Beer is believed to date all way back to the 5th millennium.

It’s likely no one was looking to make beer but instead cereals or grains that were left out and forgotten, fermented, and created the earliest known beer.

So cheers to whoever was the first person to say to themselves, “Oh no, my grains look like they have gone bad. Oh well, might as well give it a drink.”
